By capturing movement data and self-reported outcomes, the app helps clinicians and researchers better understand your unique experiences with recovery.

By participating in this study, you will gain insight into your health while also making an important contribution to global research on chronic pain.

About the Bailey Lab

Dr. Jeannie Bailey and her team at the Musculoskeletal Research Consortium (METRiCS) develop precision-based digital health tools to enhance clinician decision-making and patient engagement. Their research covers spaceflight-induced spinal instability, in-clinic biomechanical assessments, predictive modeling for post-op complications, muscle quality, biomechanical dysfunction, and pain phenotypes from real-world data.

Who is eligible?

Patients undergoing consultations, planned treatment or surgery at UCSF. You must be an adult (18+) and have either:

Lower Back Pain (LBP) or other spinal condition
Hip or Knee (lower extremity) pain
Sport-related injury

Right now, OrthoCAP only works on Apple devices, such as iPhones and iPads.
