The UCSF Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery was recently featured in the publication MedTech Strategist on in an opinion piece on the future of 3D printing, "3D Printing’s Future in Orthopedics: The Who, What, When, Where, and Why."

Aenor Sawyer, MD, who serves as Chief Health Innovation Officer for the Translational Research Institute for Space Health; Director of the UCSF Skeletal Health Service; and Co-Director, UCSF Center for Advanced 3D+ Technologies

Alan Dang, MD, an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery; staff surgeon at the San Francisco VA Health Center; and Co-Founder Edge Labs - UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, an incubator to accelerate development and evaluation of innovative methodologies and materials in health care, including rapid 3D Printing of "Precision Anatomic Models" for clinical decision making and surgical planning (Edge Labs was founded by Drs. Aenor Sawyer, Alexis Dang, and Alan Dang.)
