Sports Medicine: Women's Sports Medicine Center

Our program

The UCSF Women's Sports Medicine Center is the first and only women’s sports medicine center in the Bay Area and on the West Coast, providing comprehensive inclusive orthopaedic care to women and girl athletes of all abilities and levels.

Our mission is to use a multidisciplinary approach to the female athlete to optimize musculoskeletal function.

We offer both primary and operative orthopaedic surgery care from a team of female physicians, who are considered national and international leaders in the field of sports medicine.  All of our physicians are current or former athletes, and they have a unique understanding of what female athletes face at all ages.

In addition we have experts in sports nutrition, sports psychology, athletic training, physical therapy and a sports performance center.

Our goal is to provide the best comprehensive care to female athletes using a whole body approach to orthopaedic and musculokeletal care.

Referrals are not required to schedule an appointment. Patients can call our main line at 415-353-2808 and ask for an appointment at the UCSF Women's Sports Medicine Center.
