Orthopaedic oncologist and longtime department leader elected to one of UCSF's highest physician leadership positions.
SAN FRANCISCO (July 18, 2026) — The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery announced today that Rosanna Wustrack, MD, has begun her tenure as President of the UCSF Medical Staff, assuming one of the university's most senior physician leadership roles.
As President of the Medical Staff, Dr. Wustrack represents UCSF physicians in matters of clinical quality, patient safety, medical staff governance and physician engagement. Working closely with hospital and health system leadership, she helps guide policies and initiatives that support exceptional patient care across UCSF Health. In this elected leadership role, she serves as the voice of the medical staff while helping advance UCSF Health's mission of clinical excellence.
Dr. Wustrack previously served as Chief of Orthopaedic Oncology in the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, where she led the division's clinical, education and research programs. As she assumes her new responsibilities, she has stepped down from her departmental leadership role.

Dr. Wustrack will continue to care for patients and serve as a faculty member in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery while leading the UCSF Medical Staff.
