“We are proud to serve as the official sports medicine team for the Oakland Roots soccer team,” said Brian Feeley, MD, an orthopaedic surgeon and chief of the UCSF Sports Medicine Center. “This team is an inspiration to Oakland and East Bay communities, and we are happy to support their efforts on the field and off.”
The Oakland Roots Sports Club was established in 2019 and play in the United Soccer League (USL). The team’s home matches will be at Laney Stadium in Oakland, Calif. (Visit team schedule.).
Cindy Chang, MD and Daniel Thuillier, MD are leading the medical team for UCSF. Dr. Chang is a primary care sports medicine physician with extensive team physician experience and Dr.Thuillier is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery.
