Dr. Kazuhito Morioka says, "Research and studying abroad will never stop surgeons from growing." Dr. Morioka began his career as an orthopedic surgeon, progressed through clinical research and study abroad, and is currently affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) outside the Department of Neurology, while also serving as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the same university. At the root of this career path has always been the desire as a physician to "cure patients." We asked Professor Morioka about his research career, how he chose to study abroad, and the merits of studying abroad.
