
Dr. Feeley will join the Vice Chair cabinet to help guide the Department’s daily operations, support and mentor section leaders
SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 26, 2025) — The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is pleased to announce that Dr. Brian Feeley has been appointed to a two-year term as Executive Vice Chair.
As Executive Vice Chair, Dr. Feeley will oversee departmental systems and processes, mentor Division Chiefs, and represent the Department in key institutional forums, while also serving as a liaison between Section Chiefs and Vice Chairs to align priorities across the Department. The Executive Vice Chair was chosen by the section chiefs to represent them in the Vice Chair Cabinet.
Dr. Feeley currently serves as Chief of the Division of Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery and directs the MITO Lab (Muscle Injury and Translational Orthopaedics Laboratory). Since joining UCSF in 2008, he has held multiple leadership positions in the residency and fellowship programs and contributed nationally through research, education, and service on professional committees.
