About Utku Kandemir, MD
Dr. Utku Kandemir, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, is an orthopedic surgeon renowned for his specialization in traumatic injuries and complex trauma reconstruction. His clinical expertise spans the treatment of fractures involving the pelvis, hip, shoulder, elbow, arm, knee, ankle, and leg, as well as the management of posttraumatic deformities and infections.
A native of Turkey, Dr. Kandemir completed his medical degree and residencies in internal medicine and orthopedic surgery at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara. He further honed his skills through a research fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, UCSF.
Dr. Kandemir is actively involved in research, with a focus on fractures and joint biomechanics. He is a member of several prestigious organizations including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, AO North America, American College of Surgeons, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Kandemir's commitment to education is demonstrated through his national and international teaching and lecturing engagements.
