Dr. El Naga received the UCSF at ZSFG Exceptional Physician Award, while Dr. Park received the Krevans Award at the June 10 Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Medical Staff Meeting in San Francisco.

SAN FRANCISCO (June 16, 2026) — The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery congratulates Ashraf N. El Naga, MD, recipient of the UCSF at ZSFG Exceptional Physician Award, and Anna Park, MD, MPhil, recipient of the Krevans Award, during the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Medical Staff Meeting on June 10 in San Francisco. The honors were presented before more than 100 attendees.

Dr. El Naga, an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery and director of the Orthopaedic Spine Service at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, received the UCSF at ZSFG Exceptional Physician Award, which recognizes physicians who distinguish themselves through exceptional clinical care and innovation in clinical medicine.

A specialist in orthopaedic trauma and spine surgery, Dr. El Naga cares for patients with traumatic injuries and complex spine conditions. His research focuses on patient outcomes following fractures and spine trauma, health care disparities, technical innovations and surgical education.

Dr. Park, a PGY-1 orthopaedic surgery resident in the Class of 2030, received the Krevans Award, named in honor of former UCSF Chancellor and Dean of the School of Medicine Julius Krevans, MD. The award recognizes one intern from each department at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital who demonstrates clinical excellence, professionalism and a commitment to the hospital's unique patient population. A graduate of Stanford University and the University of Cambridge, she earned her medical degree from UCSF before joining the orthopaedic surgery residency program.

“These honors reflect the talent, dedication and compassion that define our department,” said C. Benjamin Ma, MD, chair of the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. “Dr. El Naga and Dr. Park represent excellence at different stages of their careers, and we are proud to see their contributions to patient care, education and service recognized by our colleagues at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.”
