Erik McDonald, MD, Recipient of Teaching Excellence Award for Cherished Housestaff

May 28, 2020 (San Francisco) -- Erik McDonald, MD, a resident in the UCSF Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery, is the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award for Cherished Housestaff (T.E.A.C.H.) from the UCSF School of Medicine, reflecting his outstanding didactic skills and abiding commitment to the education of medical students and residents.

Each year, the graduating medical student class selects residents, fellows, and faculty who have been outstanding teachers, mentors, and role models to medical students during their clinical years at UCSF. Recipients are selected on the basis of their dedication to UCSF PRIDE values, teaching excellence, and student experience.

"Dr. McDonald is an exceptional clinician and educator," said Dr. Thomas P. Vail, Chair of the Department. "He goes above and beyond for his patients, colleagues, and medical students.
