Event: experiMental Conference on Nov. 3 in Byers Auditorium at Genentech Hall.

The UCSF Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery, in collaboration with Health Technology Forum, will host the inaugural experiMental Conference this Saturday (Nov. 3, 2018) in Byers Auditorium at Genentech Hall on the UCSF Mission Bay campus. The conference is free, but registration is required.

The conference -- which will feature keynotes, panels, demos, an expo, and a networking reception -- will explore emerging technologies that are transforming the mental and behavioral health landscape. The conference is co-chaired by Dr. Aenor Sawyer, MD.

Of particular note, Dr. Sibel Demir-Deviren, MD, will be part of a panel of speakers discussing "Leveraging Digital Data in Mental Health: Extending reach and improving shared deciscion making." This panel, which will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., will discuss how digital tools can guide both patients and providers in collecting essential data necessary for decision-making, treatment planning, and evaluating sustained interventions and might even extend the reach of providers by reinforcing and elaborating key clinical interventions. The panel will be moderated by Jason Satterfield, PhD.
