Dr. Liu is from China and came to the US via Canada, and spent most of his childhood growing up in California. After completing his undergraduate degree at UC Davis, he spent some time doing agricultural research before attending medical school at the University of Hawai'i. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY where he covered three Level 1 trauma centers. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking, hiking, supporting Manchester United even if they're a lost cause, and hanging out with all animals.
