About Rana Rand, DO
Rana Rand, DO is an Assistant Professor in Health Sciences at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, affiliated with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Rand is a board-certified physiatrist with expertise in osteopathic manipulative medicine, neuromusculoskeletal medicine, medical acupuncture, obesity medicine, nutrition, and mind-body approaches to care. She provides integrative, patient-centered care for chronic and complex musculoskeletal conditions, emphasizing restoration of function, pain relief, and patient empowerment. Her approach combines evidence-based rehabilitation with holistic therapies to address both physical and lifestyle factors affecting musculoskeletal health.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rand is deeply committed to education and mentoring. She works with trainees across disciplines, sharing her expertise in integrative and musculoskeletal medicine while fostering a thoughtful, compassionate approach to patient care.
Dr. Rand sees patients at the UCSF Osher Center, located on the UCSF Mount Zion campus. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her human and animal loved ones, and exploring mind-body healing practices.
