Overview
Join us for our three-day, head-to-toe sports medicine conference. We are excited to again offer two tracks in our conference, one for primary care providers and one for athletic trainers and physical therapists. On Day 1 and Day 2, we will present the top sports medicine injuries and conditions along with demonstrations of the relevant physical exams. Starting the afternoon of Day 2 and continuing into Day 3, learners have the option to join smaller workshops and to choose which talks best fit their learning goals.
Some topics that are of interest to all will be presented in a large group format, such as Sports Concussion Update, Orthobiologics in Sports Medicine, Non-Biologic Injections in Sports Medicine, and Sports Nutrition. We will concurrently have many small group workshops. Some workshops will be geared towards those with less sports medicine experience, such as the series of essential physical exam workshops. Other workshops will be useful for those with more sports medicine experience, such as the series of advanced physical exam workshops as well as talks on Sideline Concussion Evaluation Pearls and How to Assess Readiness to Return to Play in the PT Office and Training Room. This course will be super high-yield for primary care providers, athletic trainers and physical therapists caring for patients of all ages who have all types of exercise and sports-related concerns.
Objectives
Primary care providers, athletic trainers, and physical therapists will be able to:
- Conduct efficient and accurate sideline and office-based musculoskeletal examinations.
- Diagnose the most common musculoskeletal injuries in people of all ages using history, exam, and (if needed) imaging.
- Understand the most up-to-date and evidence-based treatments for common musculoskeletal problems, from the athletic training facility to the physical therapy office, to the clinic.
- Identify opportunities in which collaborating with different types of sports medicine professionals can benefit a patient’s care.
- Learn from experts in their respective fields on topics such as sports concussion management, sports nutrition, running medicine, orthobiologics, joint injections, splinting and bracing, and joint replacement.
