Center Unveils Several Successes in First Year Image 1443724183_C0A5695 Image safa_faculty_final

The Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations (CDMI) a collaboration funded by the National Science Foundation between researchers at the University of California, San Francisco and the University of Toledo completed its first year with great success.

So far more than 15 abstracts have been submitted by the CDMI awardees, many of which are under publication. In addition, a team of CDMI collaborators have filed a patent that came out of a project entitled Quantitative Tool Using Impedance Spectroscopy to Monitor Fracture Healing.

The project started as a joint collaboration between a UCSF clinician ( Meir Marmor, MD) and research faculty members from UCSF ( Chelsea Bahney, PhD and Safa Herfat, PhD) and UC Berkeley (Michel Maharbiz, PhD).
