Course Overview
Our goal in this course is to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the most cutting-edge, evidence-based sports medicine evaluation and treatment. We at UCSF Sports Medicine look forward to sharing the latest in sports medicine care and research with you. This course is geared towards athletic trainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and physicians who desire an intermediate-advanced update in sports medicine.
Course Objectives
An attendee completing this course will be able to apply acquired skills and strategies to:
*Explain the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the physical and mental health of athletes of all ages;
*Optimize your practice using telemedicine pearls and patient related outcome measures;
*Evaluate and advise patients on the best evidence-based injury-prevention programs;
*Identify three health conditions that are significantly less common in patients who exercise;
*Explain cutting-edge surgical treatments for joint preservation of the knee, shoulder, and hip.
Target Audience
This conference is tailored to physical therapists, athletic trainers, chiropractors, and primary care physicians who are interested in a more current and advanced understanding of sports medicine science, diagnosis, and treatment. Musculoskeletal problems are some of the most common medical problems addressed by these practitioners. This conference is aimed at achieving high confidence and competence in these areas, therefore optimizing care of the athlete.
