The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery held its UCSF Sarcoma Strong 5K Run + Walk 2024 on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024.  More than 250 runners, walkers, friends and family came out for this pivotal event -- dedicated to raising awareness and funds for sarcoma care!

Next year's event will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mariposa Park, conveniently located at the intersection of Mariposa Street and Owens Street, directly across from UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

Our UCSF team is proud to support the national Sarcoma Strong program, which focuses on increasing awareness and funding for the treatment of sarcoma, a type of cancer that affects soft tissue and bones.

Event Details

What: UCSF Sarcoma Strong 5K Run + Walk
When: Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 10 AM
Where: Mariposa Park, San Francisco (1975 4th St, 94158)
Parking: Street parking is available around the hospital, and there is a pay lot in front of the hospital.

Registration: All are welcome! 2025 register will be available shortly. Team name: UCSF/UCSF

Virtual Participation: Can't join us in person? No problem! Participate in our virtual 5K team from August 9 to 17, 2025, and join others from across the U.S. in raising funds to combat sarcoma.

All participants will receive a UCSF Sarcoma Strong T-shirt, with sizes ranging from adult S-2XL and youth.
