Visiting Medical Students: Requirements

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s clinical elective. When space is available, U.S. visiting students (we DO NOT accept international students) may apply to participate in the clinical electives listed below. We do not provide room, or board for visiting students. Please check our housing section for more information. Students must be in their 4th year of training and comply with all UCSF’s requirements.

Since 2009, UCSF has accepted applications submitted on-line through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) for US Medical Students. If you are interested in doing an away rotation, please visit the UCSF website for more information.

2020-2021 Application Date: Opens on February 3rd, 2020

CV/Resume
USMLE Step 1 Score (no minimum req.)
Disclosure Consent Form
Additionally - Please provide a Letter of Good Standing/Recommendation from your Dean of Students stating that you are on track to graduate at the top half of your class AND/OR have your Dean directly email the communication to Dan & Hubert Kim, Program Director (hubert.kim@ucsf.edu)
