Weekly clinic to offer increased availability to see injured athletes

SAN FRANCISCO (Aug. 18, 2022) –The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is pleased to announce the opening of a sports medicine clinic at the UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion, located in the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. Sports-type injuries in patients of all ages will be seen at this clinic.

“We have a strong history of helping injured athletes develop a plan of recovery to return to play at UCSF,” said Dr. Nicholas Colyvas, MD, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the UCSF Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service. “The Mount Zion clinic expands our ability to offer our services more broadly at a location convenient to the more sections of San Francisco.”

The clinic will be helmed by sports medicine specialists Dr. Nicholas Colyvas, MD (at left) and Dr. Kristin Wingfield, MD.  Athletes of all ages and levels are welcome to schedule an appointment. Additionally, on-site radiology services will be available, and patients can self-refer or be referred to this clinic.
