Department team to participate in community event supporting arthritis research, patient care, and public engagement
San Francisco — May 8, 2026 — The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery will participate in the Walk to Cure Arthritis on Saturday, May 16, at the San Francisco Zoo, joining patients, families, and community members in support advancing care for patients with arthritis, a leading cause of disability and chronic pain.
The one-mile walk will feature family-friendly programming including a fun zone, lawn games, informational tents, and full access to the zoo following the event. The gathering is open to all ages, and participants are not required to walk or fundraise in order to attend.
Attendees are encouraged to register under the UCSF Orthopaedic Surgery team, which provides free zoo admission for participants and guests. Parking is available on site; it is free for those leaving before 11 a.m. and $13 for those staying to visit the zoo afterward.
