San Francisco, CA (May 21, 2026) — Stephanie Wong, MD, Sports Medicine Fellowship Director and assistant professor at UCSF Orthopaedic Surgery, received a 2026 Research Grant at the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). The professional organization has over 5,000 members and hosted its annual meeting from May 14-16 in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Wong was the lead investigator for the paper titled, “A Multicenter Analysis of Sex-Specific Transcriptomic and Surface Epitope Signatures of Hip Synovium in Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome.” The study delves into the phenotypic differences at the transcriptomic level, highlighting differences that can contribute to better clinical care. Congratulations to Dr. Wong and her research team for leading this research.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Anthony Ding, MD; David Gendelberg, MD; and Drew Lansdown, MD, received honors at the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Annual Leadership meeting, hosted from May 11-15. The AOA is the oldest orthopaedic association, founded in 1887. Selection for membership requires consistent and demonstrated leadership in education, mentorship, and research. Congratulations to Dr. Ding, Dr. Gendelberg, and Dr. Lansdown on their selection to the 2025 membership class and on their new FAOA designation.

Additionally, David Gendelberg, MD, received an honor for the top poster during the meeting. He was the lead investigator for the poster titled, “Reporting of Social Determinants of Health within Prospective Tibial Fracture Studies.”
