Annual 5K and 1-Mile Walk brings together the UCSF community and supporters to raise awareness and funds for sarcoma research, patient care, and community support.
SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 3, 2025) — The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is proud to share highlights from this year’s Sarcoma Strong 5K + 1-Mile Walk, held Sunday at Mission Bay. More than 200 walkers and runners joined faculty, staff, friends, families, and patients to support those affected by sarcoma and raise awareness in the fight for a cure.
Participants of all ages ran, walked, and cheered one another on, creating a vibrant sense of community and solidarity. The event celebrated resilience and strength while underscoring the importance of research, patient care, and connection in battling this rare cancer.
