SAN FRANCISCO (July 23, 2026) — The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery celebrates the graduation of six chief residents who have successfully completed the department's five-year residency program and matched into leading fellowship programs across the country. The graduates will continue advanced training in adult reconstruction, pediatric orthopaedics, sports medicine, and foot and ankle surgery before beginning the next chapter of their careers as orthopaedic surgeons. Supported by dedicated faculty and staff, the residency program is committed to training orthopaedic surgeons who will make a difference locally, nationally and globally.

“We are extremely proud of the dedication our chief residents have shown. Not only have they balanced the rigors of clinical care, research, and surgery, but they have acted as a reliable resource to younger residents and strengthened the bonds between our resident classes,” said Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Director Anthony Ding, MD. “We wish them the best as they continue their journeys as fellows and are excited to see their future accomplishments. We hope that their five years have had a positive impact and they will continue to collaborate with the Department in the future.”
