SAN FRANCISCO (June 8, 2026) -- On June 5, 2026, UCSF’s Rajiv Sethi, MD, PhD, Chief of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery, co-chaired the Spine Safety Summit in New York City, bringing together spine surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses and healthcare administrators from six countries and leading academic medical centers. 

The summit focused on advancing patient safety, improving outcomes and sharing best practices in spine care through multidisciplinary collaboration and innovation. 

The event also marked a special reunion, as Dr. Sethi connected with several former fellows who now lead major spine programs across the U.S.—a testament to the lasting impact of mentorship and the next generation of leaders advancing the field. 

The UCSF Spine Center is proud to contribute to national and international efforts that improve spine care and patient outcomes worldwide.
