UCSF to support the 76th US Women’s Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (June 4, 2021) -- The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery would like to announce its support of the 76th U.S. Women’s Open, which is currently being held at the Olympic Club in San Francisco through Sunday June 6, 2021.

“Our team is excited to partner with the USGA and to help provide medical care for this exciting and prestigious tournament with the top women golfers in the world,” said Dr. Drew Lansdown, an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, who serves as the UCSF team lead.

UCSF Medical staff – physicians, athletic trainers, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants– will be providing participants in this year’s tournament and spectators with medical assistance throughout the tournament.

Additionally, this year’s medical staff will include the UCSF Women’s Sports Medicine Center, the first and only women’s sports medicine center on the West Coast, providing comprehensive and inclusive orthopaedic care to female athletes.

“We are thrilled to support all of the attendees of this year’s USGA Tournament in San Francisco,” said Dr. Sara Edwards, Director of the UCSF Women’s Sports Medicine Center. “Our Center specializes in care of female athletes of all levels-from elite professionals to club athletes and weekend warriors.”
