SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 12, 2023) -- The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is pleased to welcome Dr. Jaclyn Hill, a distinguished board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon with a remarkable 16-year history of advancing pediatric orthopedics. She has joined our department as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery.

About Jaclyn Hill, MD

As a pediatric limb lengthening expert, Dr. Hill's specialized expertise in pediatric orthopedics is exemplified by her most recent role as the Director of the Limb Reconstruction and Lengthening program at Baylor College of Medicine. There, she consistently strove to establish nationally recognized programs and identify areas for improvement, transforming the lives of young patients through innovative and effective limb-lengthening procedures. At UCSF, we are thrilled to welcome her expertise in pediatric orthopedics and limb lengthening at the UCSF Pediatric Limb Lengthening and Complex Reconstruction Center.

As a prolific researcher, Dr. Hill's work encompasses a diverse range of topics in pediatric orthopedics, including the evaluation of surgical management in pediatric orthopedic conditions, the incidence of arthritis following specific procedures, the management of skin injuries in individuals with myelomeningocele, and an examination of gender diversity in orthopedic surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Hill has played a pivotal role in the evaluation of medical implant hardware and software. Her responsibilities encompass assessing systems for accuracy, usability, and presentation, and ensuring that devices meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. Her expertise also extends to educating and collaborating with peer clinicians in evaluating and utilizing medical implant systems.

Dr. Hill earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Princeton University and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She continued her training in the Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, and she completed a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Hill will see patients at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in San Francisco and the UCSF Redwood Shores Specialty Care Clinic.
