The UCSF Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery congratulates Dr. Nicole Schroeder, MD, on becoming the new chair holder of the Haile Debas Academy Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Schroeder succeeds Dr. Mohammad Diab, MD, as the new chair holder.
Over the next five years, Dr. Schroeder's endowed chair work will be to develop and enhance an integrated curriculum in musculoskeletal education across the Bridges Curriculum with increased collaboration and faculty participation between all departments that are involved in this education.
“Dr. Schroeder is leading our Department’s approach to medical education that engages students from the beginning of their training and improves healthcare by answering some of the biggest questions in medicine,” said Dr. Thomas P. Vail, chair of Orthopedic Surgery at UCSF. “We congratulate Dr. Schroeder on her commitment to medical education and her leadership.”
Launched in August 2016 at UCSF, the Bridges Curriculum helps guide students in mastering the skills they need to meet the challenges of 21st Century health care. The curriculum is a three-phase, fully integrated curriculum that is delivered over four years.
