About Nima Mohaghegh, PharmD
I am a Master of Translational Medicine student at UC Berkeley and UCSF, working with Dr. Chelsea Bahney on cell-derived approaches to prevent fracture-related infection. I lead regulatory and clinical strategy for our capstone team, focusing on potential regulatory pathways, preclinical evidence needs, and considerations for early clinical development.
My background combines pharmacy, academic research, and industry experience in gene therapy. Before joining MTM, I worked as a Principal Scientist, focusing on engineering and evaluating gene delivery vectors, including approaches to improve tissue targeting and address immune barriers. Earlier, my research at Boston University focused on epigenetics and regulating gene expression.
I joined MTM to build on this research experience and contribute more broadly to therapeutic development. I am particularly interested in regenerative medicine and in how scientific evidence, clinical needs, and regulatory requirements inform the development of new treatments.
