About Justin Rojo

Justin Rojo joined the UCSF PlaySafe athletic training staff in May 2026. Before joining UCSF, he spent nine years at Santa Clara University as an assistant athletic director of sports medicine. During that time, he served as the head athletic trainer for the women’s basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball and golf programs, as well as men’s soccer and tennis. As a senior athletic trainer, he also helped manage the daily operations of the Division I sports medicine department and supported the professional development of younger athletic trainers.

A New Jersey native, Justin earned his bachelor’s degree in science from Rowan University in 2015 and his master’s degree in kinesiology, with a concentration in athletic training, from San Jose State University in 2017. While at San Jose State, he worked primarily with the men’s soccer and women’s tennis programs.

At UCSF, Justin serves as a PlaySafe certified athletic trainer at Abraham Lincoln High School. He brings leadership experience, a background in collegiate sports medicine and a passion for athletic training to his work. His holistic approach to patient care includes education, progressive rehabilitative strength training, patient collaboration and mental health advocacy.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys the outdoors, movies, golf, snowboarding and spending time with his cat, Ashoka. He is also a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
