About Judy Qin

I am currently a second-year dental student at the UCSF School of Dentistry. My research in the Bahney Lab focuses on developing therapeutics that can accelerate bone repair and regeneration following fractures without adverse side effects such as pain. Given my background and past research experience in Biology and Computer Science, this project combines both of my interests and is positioned at the intersection of utilizing both translational science and machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques to solve unanswered problems in healthcare. I was recently accepted into the 2025-2026 D2 Research Fellowship Program cohort and my long-term goal is to translate these research findings to address unmet clinical needs in the field of dentistry, particularly in the repair/regeneration of bones such as the maxilla, mandible, and alveolar bone surrounding teeth, while also exploring applications for skeletal healing more broadly.
