About Matthew Kaufman, MD

Dr. Matthew Kaufman earned his Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where he graduated with top research distinction, and has completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Stanford University after completing a preliminary Internal Medicine internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. His research spans sports medicine, spine medicine, lifestyle medicine, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence in clinical care and research, with an extensive publication record and ongoing projects focused on spine interventions, adaptive athletes, biomechanics, and AI-enabled healthcare innovation. Outside of his academic and clinical pursuits, Dr. Kaufman enjoys cooking, traveling, college football, and hiking, and has a strong athletic background that includes competitive ski racing, Junior Olympic-level water polo, and earning a second-degree black belt.
