About Haley Oosterhouse , MD

Dr. Haley Oosterhouse is board-certified in both family medicine and sports medicine. Her clinical interests include musculoskeletal injuries, women’s sports medicine, and lifestyle-based strategies to enhance recovery and performance.

Before joining the UCSF sports medicine faculty, Dr. Oosterhouse completed her residency in family medicine at Long Beach Memorial, where she co-created a lifestyle medicine area of concentration and led educational initiatives focused on group visits, individual counseling and curriculum development. She also served on the academic planning committee, helping to design case-based learning sessions and a health equity lecture series. In 2025, she completed her fellowship in the UCSF Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship program, where she received advanced training in nonoperative sports injury management, ultrasound-guided injections, and injury prevention. She was team physician for Lowell High School in San Francisco and UC Berkeley. 

Dr. Oosterhouse’s academic work includes research in sports injury prevention, with presentations at the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine national conference and research forums at UCLA and USC. She has authored both peer-reviewed and educational publications, including work in the Journal of Neuroscience Research and an online ultrasound teaching module on flexor tenosynovitis.

Dr. Oosterhouse earned her medical degree with highest distinction from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where she was recognized with the AMWA Glasgow Achievement Citation and the Walker Foundation Scholarship. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, graduating cum laude with distinction in general biology and a minor in music.

Dr. Oosterhouse will see patients as part of UCSF’s primary care sports medicine team at the UCSF Redwood Shores Specialty Clinic on the Peninsula.
